Nutritional Services

At Northern Montana Health Care, we believe that food is a vital part of the healing process. Our Nutrition Services Department is committed to preparing healthy, flavorful meals that nourish the body, support recovery, and offer comfort to patients, visitors, and staff alike.

Located on the 3rd floor of the hospital near the main entrance, our team of registered dietitians and our certified dietary manager oversee all food service operations - from patient meals to staff dining and catering for hospital meetings and special events.

Whenever possible, we use Montana-sourced ingredients, serving quality meals with careful attention to dietary needs. We offer a large variety of menu items and provide special meals for holidays and for our new moms in the Labor & Delivery department.

Our Refresh Café is open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., offering a variety of fresh, satisfying meal options in a welcoming and convenient setting.

Popular daily offerings include:

• A fresh salad bar
• Soup of the day
• A rotating hot entrée
• A featured sandwich of the week

Whether you're a patient’s guest, a hospital employee, or a visitor in need of a warm meal, the Refresh Café offers nourishing choices in a clean, friendly environment.

Need a late-night coffee or snack? The Refresh Café Annex offers 24-hour access to vending machines stocked with coffee, tea, juice, soft drinks, sandwiches, and microwaveable entrées - ensuring food and beverage options are always available when you need them.

Our Nutrition Services team also:

• Prepares and delivers patient meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
• Provides catering services for hospital events, trainings, and meetings
• Collaborates with healthcare providers to support patient health through medical nutrition therapy
