A Message from Dr. Thomas Reid:

I am  delighted and honored to be the Oncologist for the Northern Montana Sletten Cancer Center in Havre, Montana. 

My philosophy and approach is to provide the absolute best oncology and hematology care in Northern Monatana: individualized care that focuses on the patient – not solely the cancer or blood disorder. Moreover, you will receive the best care right here at home.  From the moment you are referred to the Northern Montana Sletten Cancer Center, our team coordinates your care and addresses all your individual needs. Communications with you, your referring provider, and other consulting physicians are the lynchpin to our success.

We have onsite radiation oncology services with modern radiotherapeutic techniques.  Coordination between disciplines is as easy as walking down the hall for patients who need to be served by both medical and radiation oncology specialties.

You will likely have many questions before, during, and after treatment.  Our team is available to answer your questions and provide you with the information you need to navigate your treatment. We think it essential that you know about your disease process, the treatment tailored to you, and potential side effects – we take the time to educate and inform, routinely drawing on marker boards during the visit.  You will not experience your provider dictating or typing on the computer during your visits. You are what matters!

Should you require or wish for a second opinion at a major academic center, we are in ready support. If you or your provider think it important for same- day consultation, we will be happy to honor the request. 

It is important to us that your visits to the Northern Montana Sletten Cancer Center feel like being with family.  This feeling comes from the staff, technicians, assistants, nurses, and providers who are all engaged in your care – ensuring a heartfelt and warm experience!
