General Surgery
Dr. Sara Wilcox is a general surgeon at Northern Montana Health Care with expertise in robotic surgery, emergency general surgery, hernia surgery, and trauma care for adults. She earned her medical degree from Saint James School of Medicine, completed her general surgery residency at Corewell Health/Michigan State University, and holds a PhD in Immunology from the University of British Columbia. Her training included work at Level I, II, and III trauma centers, where she gained extensive experience managing high-acuity emergency cases as well as outpatient surgical care. She also completed rotations in surgical oncology, transplant, advanced hernia repair, foregut surgery, and bariatrics — experiences that deepened her understanding of complex surgical pathology and anatomy. With a background in cellular biology and immunology, Dr. Wilcox brings a scientific, evidence-based approach to surgery. She pairs this with a holistic perspective on health and healing, ensuring that patients receive care grounded in both advanced medical knowledge and compassion.
